希臘國會17日晚間舉行第一輪總統投票，總理薩馬拉斯提名的人選沒有獲得足夠的贊成票，首輪闖關失敗。

希臘第一輪總統投票結果出爐，在三百席國會中，薩馬拉斯提名人選只獲得160票，沒達到當選所需的200票，因此23日還要舉行第二次投票。

如果一直到29日的最後一輪投票都無法選出總統，希臘國會就必須解散改選。而歐盟各國則擔心主張廢除撙節的左翼黨派可能因此上台，引發新的歐債危機。
